Dayara Bugyal
A family-friendly meadow trek with enormous grasslands, forest trails and spectacular mountain views.
About the Dayara Bugyal trek
Dayara Bugyal is one of Uttarakhand's most accessible high-altitude meadow treks. Vast rolling grasslands at 12,100 ft, forest trails, and wide mountain views make it ideal for beginners and families — yet the scenery rivals far more demanding routes.
Best season
Dayara Bugyal is a year-round trek. Summer and autumn offer green meadows and clear views; winter brings snow and a quieter trail. Spring sees wildflowers across the bugyal.
Who is this trek for?
- First-time trekkers and families
- Anyone wanting a short, scenic Himalayan experience (5 days)
- Photographers drawn to expansive meadow landscapes
What to expect on the trail
The trek begins at Raithal village and climbs through Gui to Dayara Top — a wide open meadow with sunrise views that stay with you long after the trek ends. The gradual ascent and well-defined trail make this one of the most beginner-friendly options in the Garhwal Himalaya.
Himalayan Ibex runs relaxed-paced departures with emphasis on enjoying the landscape rather than rushing to camp.
